The Nude Party On World Cafe

  • Listen:
The Nude Party on World Cafe Formed at Appalachian State University in 2012, The Nude Party is a six-piece band with an unmistakable sound to match their unforgettable name. After years of experimentation, as well as guidance from Black Lips’ drummer, Oakley Munson, the band has finally released their full-length, self-titled debut. The Nude Party is in the studio today performing their mix of indie, folk, and rock 'n' roll. And they'll talk with host Stephen Kallao about their early shows, when they actually did perform naked. On the next World Cafe.
The Nude Party creates an unmistakable mix of indie, folk, psych and good old-fashioned rock and roll.
There's one obvious thing to get out of the way up front. Yes, The Nude Party actually played without clothes during the band's formative years at Appalachian State University in Boone, N.C. During their college years, the members hadn't picked a name for the band and because of their lack of wardrobe, the locals dubbed the group "The Naked Party Band."
