Philly’s Son Little is the new musical project from Aaron Livingston. He’s collaborated with The Roots and RJD2, and his song “The River” was one of our recent Gotta Hear Songs of The Week. John Vettese called it “a barn-burning bootstomp jam, an utterly catchy song that’s a little bit electronic, a little bit soul, a little bit blues.”
Fly Golden Eagle is fronted by Ben Trimble, originally from Detroit, who made his way to Nashville to attend college. When he got there he settled into a creative community of musicians anchored around producer and recording studio owner Andrija Tokic’s Bomb Shelter, the East Nashville epicenter of many things musically cool: Alabama Shakes, Hurray For the Riff Raff, Caitlin Rose, The Ettes, and many others have recorded their records here. Trimble recorded the Alabama Shakes debut and has toured, opening for the Shakes.
September’s Artist To Watch is the Milwaukee, Wisconsin band Field Report. On October 7th, the band is releasing their sophomore album, Marigolden. This week the band’s single, “Home (Leave The Lights On)” is our Gotta Hear Song of the Week. You can listen to it here

Strand of Oaks is the recording and performing name of singer-songwriter and guitarist Tim Showalter. They release their new album, Heal, on June 24th on Dead Oceans records.
HEAL is Showalter’s coming out rock and roll record. His previous releases were more rooted in the singer-songwriter, indie-acoustic tradition.
May’s Artist To Watch is Sam Smith, a young (22 years old) British singer-songwriter already turning heads from his appearance on Saturday Night Live and a recent cover of his song “Stay With Me” on The Voice.
Andrew Hozier Byrne, AKA Hozier, is the Irish singer-songwriter who sings the emotionally moving “Take Me To Church,” one of XPN’s 2014 break out songs.
He’s just released his second EP, From Eden, with a full length to come later this year. He’ll be performing at this year’s Non-Commvention in May.
